About the event
What happens to stories that are forgotten or never passed down to new generations? How can these stories be recorded or accessed, and how can you tell what is real from what has been added in retellings?
Oral history research records memories and stories that are in danger of being lost forever.
In this workshop our co-founder and linguistic anthropologist Chelsea McGill will teach you what oral history is and the many forms it can take, from your grandfather's stories to poetry and proverbs. We will also discuss how we can each do our part to record what is rapidly becoming lost and how to preserve it for future generations.
The workshop will be conducted via Zoom. Participation link will be shared with all those who have registered 12 hours before the tour via email. Please check your Spam folder in case you have not received the link or get…
